History

McMahon Automotive Group began in February 27, 1987 in the basement of founder Joe Mc Mahon’s home.

Joe began his leasing career in 1970 with Foy Leasing in Philadelphia, shortly after completing his tour of duty in Viet Nam. Working under George F. Foy was both an honor and pleasure.

In 1987 after 16 years with the Foy organization, building a successful independent lease company and daily rental company, Joe decided, with a wife and five children, to resign from Foy Leasing and begin McMahon Leasing Inc.

Joe’s vision from the very beginning was to make McMahon Leasing different and better than any other lease company in the marketplace. McMahon Leasing was to be a totally unbiased independent transportation company offering all makes and model vehicles, along with convenient and economical service options, for both individuals & fleet users both in the Delaware Valley and nationally.

In June of 1990, Joe was joined in the business by his younger brother Dan McMahon, now Vice President of Fleet Operations. In May 1997 his son Patrick (PJ), now our Vice President of Vehicle Sales and Leasing, joined the company full time.

During their tenure our entire executive sales team has received their certifications from The National Vehicle Leasing Association (NVLA) as certified vehicle leasing executives (CVLE), and continue to be re-certified every five years. All executive level management has continually had a leadership presence with NVLA by serving as Tri-State Chapter Chairpersons and as members on the executive level National Board of Directors.

In 2005 McMahon changed its business name to McMahon Automotive Group due to the fact that we wanted to be sure to communicate that we offer both lease programs and purchase programs for both new and used vehicles.

McMahon Automotive Group has grown from a one man operation to one of the most successful full service fleet management companies in the Delaware Valley thanks to the support of our valued customers, our terrific staff and many friends.
