Air Bag Safety

Air Bag Safety

Maureen Kohler, a good friend and client, was kind enough to share with us this very important safety concern and true story regarding a front passenger injury from air bags.

"While driving on a highway during a summer trip with his family, a teenager was sitting in the front passenger seat with his feet up on the dash board...as many of us do.  Unfortunately, what happened next is your worst possible nightmare.  There was an accident, but the injuries could have been prevented.

"The young man's legs were thrust into his face when the air bags deployed.  He not only broke his legs in many places, along with his pelvis, but he also fractured his face - jaw and eye socket - when his legs hit his face.  He will never be the same and is still undergoing corrective surgeries with many years of rehab ahead of him."

So, when you are on a long drive and your passenger puts their feet up on the dash, just tell them how concerned you are about their safety by relating this true story.
